Dr Olympia Palikara is Associate Professor in Educational Psychology at Warwick University.
I am an Educational Psychologist by training and my research work lies at the intersection of Educational Psychology and Special Educational Needs. My research interests concern the educational and psychosocial outcomes of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, including those with Williams Syndrome. I am also particularly interested in the effect of educational transitions, including from primary to secondary education and secondary education to post-compulsory education on children’s wellbeing, and identifying the best ways to support them during these critical periods. I am dedicated in ensuring that the outcomes of my research raise awareness about the educational and psychosocial needs of children with Williams Syndrome and how they can be best met in schools.
